Meyer, Faustino Lead Metro State Over Nebraska-Kearney, 5-2

BOLIVAR, MO. -- Riley Meyer and Angelo Faustino won both their singles and doubles matches to lead Metro State to a 5-2 victory over Nebraska-Kearney in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Friday afternoon at Southwest Baptist University. The match was delayed two hours due to weather but once things got started, the Roadrunners won at No. 1 and 2 doubles, both by a score of 9-8. Meyer and Sascha Ruckelshausen won at No. 1, while Faustino and Ryan Campbell won at No. 2. In singles action, Meyer won at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-3, while Faustino won at No. 3, 6-2, 6-1. Sean Carlton also won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 7-5. With the win, Metro State improves to 17-6 overall. The Roadrunners face Southwest Baptist, a 5-0 winner over Truman, in the second round, Saturday at 9 a.m. Metro State vs University of Nebraska-Kearney |
