No. 10-ranked West Texas A&M Ends Metro State's Season In Four Games

KEARNEY, NEB. -- Melissa Harper had 19 kills and five blocks to lead No. 10-ranked West Texas A&M to a 30-25, 31-33, 30-20, 30-21 victory over Metro State in the second round of the NCAA Southwest Regional Volleyball Tournament, Saturday evening at the UNK Health and Sports Center.

The No. 2-seed Lady Buffs had three players in double-digit kills, while Kelsey Ellis had 17 kills and 20 digs and Julie Green-McFarland posted 12 kills for the Roadrunners.

The Roadrunners hit just .092 for the match, including -0.44 in game four. They outblocked WTAMU, 13-7, but Metro State had nine service errors and eight ball handling errors.

Green-McFarland ends her career as Metro State's all-time kills and attack attempts leader.

Metro State made its eighth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament under head coach Debbie Hendricks.

With the win, West Texas A&M improves to 34-7 overall, while Metro State's season ends at 16-15 overall. The Lady Buffs move to Sunday's regional final against top-seeded Nebraska-Kearney.
