Green-McFarland Earns Daktronics All-Region Honors

Nov. 15, 2007

KEARNEY, NEB. - Metro State senior Julie Green-McFarland has been named to the Daktronics All-Southwest Region second team, the committee announced.

Green-McFarland, a first team all-RMAC selection, leads the league in kills per game (4.67) and is Metro State's all-time leader in kills (1625) and attack attempts (4467). She has recorded at least 10 kills in 27 of 29 matches this season.

Nicole Schwab of Fort Lewis was named the region's player of the year. Seven RMAC players were named to the first and second teams, including two to the first team.

Sports information directors from within the region select the Daktronics all-region teams. All first-team selections move on to the national ballot and are eligible for all-American honors.

Metro State, 15-14 overall, is the No. 6 seed and plays No. 3-seed UC-Colorado Springs in the first round of the NCAA Southwest Region Tournament, Nov. 16, in Kearney, Neb.
